Weather at the Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda
The most interesting element of the weather for Port Royal Golf Course is the wind, which will have an effect on many of the holes, including the 16th. The breezes come from the sea but the direction can be very variable.
The climate of Bermuda is governed by its location. It is warmed by the Gulf Stream and the sun’s rays, but it does not suffer from the relentless heat of the tropics.
We rarely see extremes in temperature. The hottest part of the year is May through to mid-October, when temperatures hover between 75ºF/23ºC and 85ºF/29ºC. During the winter months, temperatures average a balmy 70ºF/21ºC.
Summer months tend to be drier, but rainfall is relatively even throughout the year. However, since rainstorms generate the island’s only supply of fresh water, residents welcome the brief storms whenever they occur.
Unlike the Caribbean, hurricanes are not prevalent in Bermuda, although they do visit occasionally – once every 7 years or so.
